The Bible says in Psalms 127:3, “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward.” We understand the procreative processes involved in making a child, but this verse points out that ultimately the ability to reproduce comes from the Creator of all life. Though not all will agree, it is true that all life is a gift from God.

As parents we are given the privilege of passing on our knowledge to the kids God has blessed us with. This includes what we know about good hygiene and the steps to take to do our best to stay healthy while spending time in places where bacteria and viruses might be lurking. One of those places where bacteria and viruses can be found in abundance is at a playground.

On page 6 Terri Perrin talks with Jake Taylor at Curb Appeal Power Wash in Topeka, KS, and shares in the first of two parts what he has discovered as he looked into cleaning playgrounds. His research led him to realize that harmful germs can be found on many outdoor playgrounds because they aren’t cleaned regularly.
