Editor’s Note—October 2016

by Michael Hamline, Editor / Published October 2016

As you read this month’s issue, you won’t be able to escape that it is The Show issue. There are three upcoming trade shows profiled in the following pages, which are for CETA, PWNA, and WJTA-IMCA. Cleaner Times makes a point to highlight these trade shows because they provide, at the very least, important venues to network, to stay abreast of industry developments, and to discover ways to improve your business, including building on the business strengths and identifying and improving weaknesses in your company.

The first of these shows is the 2016 CETA Annual Convention, which will be held October 24–28 in Chicago, IL. The bulk of the educational opportunities will come on Tuesday, October 25, and deal with topics such as what’s in your employee manual, building a stronger business, and the CETA technical update and industry trends. On the evening of October 25, CETA will hold the annual business meeting, where they will announce the winners of the Lifetime Achievement and Community Service awards. This will be followed by the opening reception. Since the CETA Convention is held in conjunction with ISSA/Interclean, there are a wide variety of keynote speakers—such as Rob O’Neill, Dennis Miller, and Steve Wozniak—to be heard from as well. For a more complete schedule of what will be happening, turn to CETA’s Show Guide on page 8.

Next up is the WJTA-IMCA show, which will be held in New Orleans, LA, from November 2–3. The boot camp educational sessions will be held all day on November 2, as well as from 10:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. on November 3. The industry reception will be held on November 2 from 3:30–5:30 p.m. and the outside demos will be offered on the mornings of November 2–3. Turn to page 52 for a complete schedule.

Finally, there is the PWNA Annual Convention, which will meet in Isle of Palms (Charleston), SC, from November 17–19. There will be several certification courses offered as well as classes teaching about pump repair, business finance, chemicals and pH scales, parking garage cleaning, how to become a successful entrepreneur, and more. For complete coverage of PWNA, visit www.pwna.org.

Cleaner Times is looking forward to seeing you at one or more of these conventions!
